Dr. Muhammad Khalid, a leading educationist, academician and researcher has joined School of Creative Arts, University of Lahore as Head of Department.
Dr. Muhammad Khalid, A Leading Educationist, Academician and Researcher has joined School of Creative Arts, University of Lahore as Head of Department. He has over 38 years of research and academic experience.
Dr. M. Khalid has completed his Post-Doctoral Fulbright Research Scholarship and worked on a research project: “The US Mass Media and the Image of Muslim World”, The School of Journalism, Southern Illinois University, Carbondale, Illinois, United States. He has obtained his Ph.D. Degree from the Department of Communication Sciences, Frei University, West Berlin. (Topic of Dissertation: Mass Communication in Developing Countries-Development of Radio Broadcasting in Pakistan) in 1986. He has completed his M.A Journalism from the Punjab University, Lahore, Pakistan in 1970.
Dr. M. Khalid has extensive experience both as Journalist and educationist. He started his career as Reporter and Sub-Editor in 'The Pakistan Press International' (PP1) Lahore-Pakistan in 1970. Later he served as Assistant Professor, Associate Professor and Professor at Mass Communication Department of various renowned public sector universities of Pakistan. Before joining SOCA, University of Lahore he has served University of Sargodha, Lahore Campus as Professor/ HOD, Department of Mass Communication. He has also served as member Board of Studies and Member Board of Faculty at various universities from time to time.
He has extensive research portfolio with dozens of papers published and presented at conferences both in Pakistan and internationally. He has delivered lectures, attended seminars as guest speaker and attended and organized various workshops. He has around 40 dissertation supervisions to his credit and has also evaluated and reviewed various works. It is an honor for School of Creative Arts to work under his guidance and administration.
