Prof. Dr. Muhammad Saleem Rana

Dr. Saleem Rana is a Professor of Public Health in UIPH, UOL since 01-08-2018. He did his PhD, on the research title “Treatment responses of uncomplicated falciparum malaria to different anti-malaria Drugs by mono and combination therapy in Punjab, Pakistan” from University of the Punjab, Lahore, Pakistan. He also did, P.G. Diploma in “Planning and Program Management” from WHO Regional Training Center Bandar Abass, Iran and “Mosquito Borne Diseases” from College of Health, University of South Carolina, USA. He is a Higher Education Commission Pakistan's approved PhD supervisor and member of curriculum committee. He is also member of RSTMH-UK, IHME University of Washington, USA, Academic Advisory Council Health Services Academy, Islamabad and accreditation Committee “National Vocational & Technical Training Commission” (NAVTTC), Islamabad. He has >33 years professional experience in teaching, research and management. He has supervised two Ph.D. and 47 MS/M.Phil research thesis.
Many research grants have been awarded to him as a principal investigators. H has extensive field experience of Pakistan Communicable /non-communicable diseases, landscapes, population dynamics and socio-cultural issues. He has an excellent communication skill in speaking and writing English. Nine research grants have awarded to him as principal investigators. His area of research interest is malariology, gerontology, measuring burden of diseases of communicable, non-communicable and aging diseases. He has been awarded two gold medal for his life time achievements by Society of Family Physicians and Quid-I-Azam Society of Pakistan.
