Biography

Dr. UMER YOUNAS earned his B.Sc degree from the University of the Punjab. He did his M.Sc in Analytical Chemistry from The Islamia University of Bahawalpur in 2008 with distinction. He received Gold Medal from the Prime Minister of Pakistan for his first position in M.Sc. In 2011, Dr. Umer Younas completed his M.Phil in Analytical Chemistry from University of Sargodha. In M.Phil, he accomplished a research project entitled “Effect of Industrial Effluent Irrigation on Proximate Composition and Heavy Metal Contents in Soil: Their Translocation and Impact on Growth of Brassica Rapa var. Rapa L. (Turnip)”.

Dr. Umer Younas completed his doctoral studies from the University of Sargodha in Analytical Chemistry. He completed a research project titled "Antioxidant Activity Evaluation and Bioavailability Enhancement of Bioactive Components from Selected Medicinal Plants". Till now, he has published 63 research articles in different journals of international repute having accumulative impact factor ≈ 250, citation > 836, and h-index = 14 and i10-index = 16. One book as editor and 6 book chapters are at his credit. Dr. Umer Younas is HEC approved supervisor. Till now 35 M.Phil. students has completed their research under his supervision and 2 PhD students are currently working with him.  His main research areas are • Reuse of Industrial and Residual Wastes • Extraction/Isolation of Bioactive Components from Medicinal Plants • Phytomedicines • Bioactive-enriched Fractionation and Bioavailability Enhancement • Sustainable Drug Delivery • Development of food additives and preservatives • Functional Food and Nutraceutical Products • Nanotechnology.
