Faryal Sohail has obtained her MSc degree in Mass communication from Punjab University, Lahore. Subsequently, she attended Bahaud din Zakariya University for her M.Phil. She joined UOL in 2019 as a permanent faculty in school of creative arts. She is a passionate researcher. Her recent research work focuses on Fake news on social media, also she presented an extensive research paper on fake news which was much appreciated in the international conference organized by institute of Regional studies Islamabad collaborated with US embassy. She has written many articles for various elite newspapers on topics like intolerance, Islamophobia and religious extremism. Similarly, she has also worked as a freelance content writer. Her major area of research includes the representation of narratives like Mental illness in cinema. Her Mphil dissertation is a compelling work of semiotic analysis based upon studying the cinema and portrayal of mental illness. Moreover, she has also worked on the phenomenon of Self presentation on social media during her academic career. Currently, her major focus is on the study of different cultural studies, pluralism, psychoanalysis of cinema and behavioural patterns of individuals on various social media platforms.
