Dr Muhammad Yaqoob passed his MBBS examination in 1983 from the King Edward Medical University, Lahore. He qualified his membership (MCPS) in pediatrics in 1988 from the college of Physician & Surgeons, Karachi, Pakistan. In 1990, he was enrolled as scholar in the Uppsala University, Sweden, in the subject of Clinical/Population Genetics. He succeeded in attaining Master Degree in 1993. Because of his extraordinary interest in research, he was offered PhD program by the same university and so succeeded in completing his PhD from Uppsala University in the mid of 1996. So for, Muhammad Yaqoob has published sixteen research papers mostly in international journals with high impact factor. He has thirty two years of experience of service, teaching and research in the health sector in Pakistan and abroad. His fields of special interest are public health, preventive medicine, mental retardation, birth defects, Down syndrome, and impact of intermarriages on human health.
