Dr. Shakeel Ahmad holds interdisciplinary postgraduate degrees of International Relations and in International Law. He received his Ph.D. in international law from China University of Political Science and Law, Beijing and LLM (International Law) from Law School, University of Edinburgh, UK. His Ph.D. research focuses on the legal criticism of the US policy on Drone Strikes towards Pakistan and Right of Self-defence which highlights various legal lacunas and inconsistencies of US policy towards established norms of Armed Conflicts. He has also worked as research fellow at Middle East Institute (MEI) Washington DC. Previously, he has served as an Assistant Professor and Focal Person for Center of International Law at NDU, Islamabad. He also holds Master degree (with Distinction) in International Relations and M. Phil (American Studies) from QAU Islamabad. His exposure of studying and research in the USA, China and UK as well as interdisciplinary background, is productive to turn up with valued policy insights.
