Dr. Sultan Akhtar
Department of Physics
Dr. Sultan has a strong background in Material Science with PhD in Material Physics from Uppsala University, Sweden. He has a good experience of teaching and research. Dr. Sultan has been working on versatile research projects and analyzed the nano-structures of e.g. metallic, ceramics, composite, polymers, and bio-materials. The main materials includes: graphene sheets, nanoparticles, polymeric membranes and hydrated biomaterial nanostructures. He has ample experience of advanced characterization tools, such as, scanning electron microscopy (SEM), transmission electron microscopy (TEM) & focused ion beam (FIB) microscopy and atomic force microscopy (AFM).
Before joining The University of Lahore, Dr. Sultan has been working as an Assistant Professor in Center for Advanced Studies in Physics (CASP) at Government College University Lahore. During his tenure, he was involved in research, teaching and up-gradation & maintenance of the TEM Laboratory. He taught a semiconductor physics and experimental technique courses and TEM lab course to M. Phil (Physics) class. Dr. Sultan's PhD work has been published in the well-reputed international research journals. He is also an approved HEC PhD supervisor.
At UOL, Dr. Sultan was teaching a Laser Physics course to M. Phil Class and also involved in lab establishing projects.
