Dr. Muhammad Usman Qadri
Assistant Professor(HEC Approved PhD Supervisor)
Department of Physics
I am DR.MUHAMMAD USMAN QADRI, currently working as an Assistant professor in the Department of Physics, University of Lahore, Lahore, Pakistan. I am involved in the teaching to master student and research related to metal oxides (synthesis, growth and characterization) for broad applications. My current experience and knowledge gain in my entire carrier urge me to go in the field related to research in new materials and devices. In this area a lot of research and finding are still in progress so I wish to work in the nanostructured growth related to oxides and composites, this includes optical, electrical and structural characterization.
I finished my Doctorate study in Enginyeria electronica, electrica, automatica i comunicació (electronics and electrical engineering), from Universitat Rovira i Virgili, Tarragona, Spain. This includes a first year research mod master degree in electronics and electrical engineering. Title of the thesis is: “Tungsten oxide nanostructures and thin films for optical gas sensors”.
I did Masters in Nanoelectronics from KTH Stockholm Sweden. I worked on VCSELs (vertical cavity surface emitting lasers), characterization in my Masters thesis and have gone through different courses related to Nanotechnology and Nanoelectronics. My undergraduate is Physics and basic electronics in Pakistan. Besides my educational background I have three years work experience of teaching in a local school in the Pakistan, to higher secondary level. I have studied mostly the courses related to semiconductor related to optics and photonics technology.
