Rabia Aslam did her Bachelors in Physics from Lahore University of Management and Sciences (LUMS) and Masters in Biomedical Engineering from KU Leuven, Belgium as an Erasmus Mundus Scholar. The highlights of her research experience include summer internship in the European Organization for Nuclear Research (CERN), Switzerland and a research position in Neuro-electronics Research Flanders (NERF), IMEC, Belgium. For her masters’ project, she worked on automatic segmentation using shape models for rectal cancer radiotherapy at Medical Imaging Research Center (MIRC), Leuven. At NERF, she worked on the automated analysis of cellular signals from Calcium Imaging while at CERN, she analyzed strange particle production in proton-proton collisions.
Rabia is a strong advocate of promotion and development of education and believes in bringing high education standards to Pakistan, maintaining equal opportunities for all. She has a penchant for taking on challenges and work with dedication and perseverance. She has been a part of several projects aiming at easy access of education with emphasis on conceptual learning. Her previous teaching experience includes teaching at Punjab Group of Colleges, Lahore and serving as Teaching Assistant at LUMS.
When she is not occupied with studying or teaching Physics, she wallows in popular science books and literary masterpieces, painting, calligraphy and community services and blogs about stuff that amazes her.
